Analog Dimmable Lamp
I’m on the tinkering end of the design spectrum, and I find exploiting the innate abilities of materials to be very satisfying. A while back a student brought some off-cuts from their packaging project—a glued-up stack of corrugated cardboard. It was surprisingly rigid, and interestingly had a sort of polarity pertaining to light transmissibility. I started to brainstorm applications for this trait and came up with an “analog” dimmable lamp. The results weren’t exactly what I expected, but this is just the beginning of my experiments with this material.
